How about enabling the SHINE option. Going directly to Icecast would disable the crossfade feature along with others.

To reduce the CPU load on the Pi, is it possible to migrate from Apache2 to nginx? If not is there any way I can strip down Apache to reduce the CPU load like disabling modules or something else? Also how can I disable mp3gain and silan?

Hi, where are you going? Don't leave! The more input Airtime gets the better it will be. I think. I've been using it for about a year and honestly it has improved quite a bit.
