http://92.48.231.143:8000/ should display the status page. It does not. Icecast is screwed up or your vps firewall is blocking port 8000 or the firewall in the router. I would disable any firewalls, just for a test and see if it works then.
I did a quick test: open port finder Remote Address Closed Port 8000 is closed on 92.48.231.143

Just to let you know that in the end my VPS provider managed to open port 8000 correctly.
And immediately we had a live audible radio station :)
(This took us, complete Linux noobs, over a month, including switching to Debian from Ubuntu, so we were very excited and happy to actually hear our own radiostation!)
CHECK OPEN PORTS
This tool is very easy to actually check if supposedly open ports can be connected to on your server from the internet. I should have used it in the first place. I leave it here for easy access if others are as sloppy as me and don't actually check themselves thoroughly ;)
