No sound via icecast eed.
Ok, Solved. It seems that I had not disabled the firewall. Adding a rule to allow connections with port 8000 fixed the problem. Thanks for your effort. John

The output of 'sudo netstat -tlnp | grep icecast' is: tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8000 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 2221/icecast2 John

Ok I can get it working, that is I can get sound from the icecast feed if I'm on the airtime / icecast server. I get sound from the feed ok. However if I'm on any other machine on my network I can't get any sound and the icecast feed …
