    When doing your upgrade remember to run the upgrade script as well using the link below

    http://localhost-or-www.yoursite.com/folder-name/upgrade.php
    here is mine on localhost:
    http://localhost/tmc/upgrade.php

    do this from the main page, not in the admin page.

    The only problem encountered so far and this is not much of a problem at all is the dashboard info in widgets does not load in prism ok in firefox just screws up in prism for some reason.

    Just as a further report upgrading on any system on windows is still failing!

    Mowes portable:
    Upgrading the database from version 2.0.x...
    when upgraging from 3.5.51 to 3.5.2

    Now this is bad news when considering the amount of hosting which has deviations from your set-up. If upgrading won't work with Mowes or Xampp in windows then it will probably fail in a lot of host out there.

    I think you are missing the point. It would seem that if there is a deviation from the systems you have set up newscoop on then it fails to upgrade. Now I use to host a post nuke site on freebsd host, so I'm wondering if the same problems on upgrading would be affected by a bsd host.

    Second point being when I hosted my old postnuke site on bsd host (34sp.com) I was then a windows user. Don't get me wrong I applaud your use of Linux i'm an Ubuntu user myself but, all those potential users on windows would be totally screwed. For now I'll carry on doing the videos in windows on 3.5 as Linux sucks when it comes to video.

    Ok, perhaps I did miss the point. What do you mean by "any deviation"? I
    would really like to get to the bottom of this. Is there a problem on an
    Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, or Fedora system? (Note: We dont have official
    support for BSD)

    no problems on my Ubuntu system can't speak for the others. I do think it ought to be made clear that newscoop will only work properly with the systems you mention. For people not using Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora lets say they host on a BSD host like I use to. Now lets say these people have great success installing newscoop and have lots of issues in the archive. Now it's time to upgrade, bingo failure not using Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora total loss of archive (if not backed up), all because there was no warning of newscoop only working on certain systems.

    Not knowing this info is a problem when looking for a hosting company as well. Not trying to be picky just pointing out some possible pit falls people may run into through lack of information not being up front. To my way of thinking this info should be on the download page.
