Problems after installation
  • I have installed Campsite on WAMP

The installation completed without any errors accept that I had APC cache as status No.

after installation I clicked on the Admin login Button that appeared and firefox displayed the following error

    The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

        * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
              cookies.

Later when I tried to access the website directly I got the error
The site alias 'localhost' was not assigned to a publication. Please create a publication and assign it the current site alias.

I dont know if anyone else has encountered the same problem... Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

It should be if you haven't installed demo data. You need to make a publication and assign localhost as alias.

check apache rewrite module. It should be enabled.
    Also you can try http://localhost/admin/login.php
  • how can i correct it?

  • Hello! Does anybody know that when users are referred to section 7, page 28 of the newscoop manual "Create A Publication" all the information and screens there show the user *already* signed into the admin/dashboard area?? Problem is user (Me!) cannot get into this area when rejected because I have not 'created a publication'. During the install process, no dialogue or instructions were given to 'create a publication'. Instead, the info in the manual specifically states creating a publication takes place *after* installation is complete. Thus we have an 'endless loop'. I assigned a site alias in my newscoop.conf file for the apache virtual host. This alone does not solve the problem. Any more suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you.
