    I tried to use c 1.4 with ubuntu 10.4
I found mainly 2 dependency problems
    libboost-date-time1.38.0 is now 1.40.0
    and
    libicu40 is now libicu42

Is there a way to overcome these issues ?

    Thanks

As you have noticed, it does not install correctly on Ubuntu 10.4 at the
moment. The best way to get it running is to install it on Ubuntu 9.10. If
you dont want to reinstall your machine then you can create a VirtualBox
image and it will work fine.

We are currently working on Campcaster binary packages for Lucid. In the meantime, you might like to download the source packages for Karmic, tweak the files in the debian/ directory as required, and build your own binaries.
  • I tried installing the Development Environment under 10.04 and I had no dependency problems so you might give it a try.Although I am encountering this problem, which has not been solved until now
  • Just wondering if you have any indication as to when a binary will be available for 10.04?

    Hi Ashley,

I'm afraid we don't have a date for that yet - the bugs with the setup
of the postgres database need to be tackled first.

    Cheers!

    Any updates?

I was so excited when I stumbled across Campcaster, our community station is discussing new software alternatives, and I would love to be able to offer a linux alternative.

That's very feasible - my suggestion would be to try 1.4.0-beta4 on a
Karmic 9.10 system as a preview of what 1.4.0-stable will be like on Lucid.

Full installation instructions for Karmic are here:

    Cheers!
