we are preparing the Utrecht presentation and I run into an problem with multiple soundcard setup.
There are following devices:
cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [I82801DBICH4 ]: ICH4 - Intel 82801DB-ICH4
Intel 82801DB-ICH4 with ALC202 at irq 10
1 [Aureon51MkII ]: USB-Audio - Aureon5.1MkII
TerraTec Aureon5.1MkII at usb-0000:00:1d.1-1, full speed
2 [Aureon51MkII_1 ]: USB-Audio - Aureon5.1MkII
TerraTec Aureon5.1MkII at usb-0000:00:1d.0-2, full speed
In the campcatser-studio and scheduler settings, the only terms which are work are "hw:0,0" and "default". In the system settings I can mark 2nd or 3rd soundcard as default, which works fine in the studio than. But I can't use "hw:1,0" nor "hw:2,0" in the campcaster-studio/-scheduler. It does not playback. For alsaplayer those device strings (-d parameter) are fine.
Any idea how I can address the 2dn/3rd card otherwise in campcaster? /dev/dsp(n) also not working.
One more remark: i explored that the USB soundcard can only be addressed by "default", nothing matter which device it is. The internal soundcard can be addressed as hw:n,0.
It would help if someone can report the same or other experience with other USB-card model.
By way of update, on Monday we managed to get my ubuntu 9.10 machine working perfectly
with Campcaster 1.4, using two soundcards.
The initial attempt to set options to:
cue audio device : hw:0,0
Live mode audio device: hw:1,0
meant the playback froze. so, Sebastian suggested I go to System >
Preferences > Sound. select the output tab and select my external
soundcard as the default. Then I fired up Campcaster, logged in and went
to options and the sound tab. I assigned the 'Cue audio device to my
internal card with "hw:0,0" and Live Mode Audio Device to my external
card by writing: "default". It worked fine.
Yet today, i try and do the same thing and I can only get Live mode and
Cue to playout through my internal soundcard, no matter what settings i
put in Options.
And when I try and use my default music player, it plays it through the
external soundcard fine if i use the system setting to recognise it as the default output device.
I think the Aureon 5.1 MkII TerraTec is the issue. Another soundcard (a Behringer model), works fine. Very strange though - the Aureon had no problems on Monday...
