Hello;

I've been struggling with a fresh newscoop install.

I'm running on a Ubuntu 14.04LTS and mysql is Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.49.

I download the files, use composer to install dependencies and run the installer.

I also generated a new mysql user with permissions granted only to the newscoop. table. I didn't create the table yet.

First time I did id by myself, and the second time I followed closely the examples given at http://sourcefabric.booktype.pro/newscoop-42-for-journalists-and-editors/mysql-installation/. Both failed.

When I give the installer the mysql user data, it throws the following error:

I can proceed with the install if I use the root user but of course this is a bad practice...

I got this too. In the end I had to use mysql workbench and give newscoop_user all privileges.

Trying to install on Amazon EC2. The same thing seems to be happening again.

I got to the install page and used localhost as the server, newscoop_user and newscoop_user_password but then get what looks to be the same as Ignacio.

I also managed to get the installation script to run as root user. There does seem to be a problem with permissions for the newscoop_user that prevents the script from executing.

It's one bad line in the sql file that's demanding that access, but that line can be removed without impacting the install.
