Daft Question
  • Hi

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have looked through the FAQs and come up with nothing.

I am running Linux Mint 13 and have just installed the Easy DEB version of Airtime. I have rebooted but when I go to the web address I just get the following:

    It works!

This is the default web page for this server.

The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.

How do I actually log in to start using the application please?

    Thanks

    Kyle

EDIT: I have tried running the command below and it seems to be saying that airtime is not installed - but I can't work out, how to install it?

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure airtime

Package `airtime' is not installed and no info is available.

Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,

and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.

    /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: airtime is not installed.

For me that would be the only version available with the tar.gz
I hope to see A. Santoni clarifying this point.
A lot of problems here are linked to this...
  • I have now tried installing in Ubuntu 13.10 and am still getting nowhere - is there a Dummies guide for getting this running please?

I am sure this is a very powerful piece of software but it's quite redundant if it's near impossible to use.

    K

EDIT: I am now seeing the following:

    Setting up airtime (2.5.1-1) ...
    Setting up apache2...
    Site airtime-vhost disabled.
To activate the new configuration, you need to run:
      service apache2 reload
    Enabling site airtime-vhost.
To activate the new configuration, you need to run:
      service apache2 reload
    Module rewrite already enabled
    Site 000-default already disabled
    Configuring php5...
     * Restarting web server apache2                                         [fail]
     * The apache2 configtest failed.
    Output of config test was:
AH00526: Syntax error on line 13 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/airtime-vhost.conf:
Either all Options must start with + or -, or no Option may.
    Action 'configtest' failed.
The Apache error log may have more information.
invoke-rc.d: initscript apache2, action "restart" failed.
    dpkg: error processing airtime (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
    Errors were encountered while processing:
     airtime
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Am I being stupid or is this supposed to be intuitive?

When trying to run reconfigure, I get this -

/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: airtime is broken or not fully installed.

Now I have tried following the manual instructions and this happens:

    sudo: /home/kyle/airtime-2.5.1/install_full/ubuntu/airtime-full-install: command not found

Okies, can anyone suggest any forums where I could go for help please?

We recommend installing on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS
Ubuntu 13 installs a later version of php and other things which may be causing an issue.

Also, it sounds like you used the 'EASY' install mehood.

Have you tried installing using THIS method?
    http://sourcefabric.booktype.pro/airtime-25-for-broadcasters/automated-installation/
This seems the most successful and forgiving of the install methods.

No longer using Airtime or Libretime.
  • Many thanks for getting back to me, it's really appreciated. I have a spare HDD so will put Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS on that and try again.

No longer using Airtime or Libretime.
  • @Kyle Richards
I think your problem is the way you answer the questions when you are installing Airtime.

Chose to use Airtime Virtual Host, but do not remove the original configuration.

this will install on port 80,if you have a website on port 80 just follow my instruction on changing ports in this thread  http://forum.sourcefabric.org/discussion/16439/problem-with-changing-port-80
