Bug Hunting.. Has anyone else found some mp3's do not play to public via Icecast?
  • I have found some that play in preview but do not through icecast - you get silence which does NOT fallback and the backend show progress bar progresses.
If you find the same - could I please have links to these files?
Trying to find patterns and need more bad files.
    Thanks.

  • I now have 4 variants of mp3 codec encoding that wont work in icecast but do work in preview.

Run all files through Audiacity -> stereo and they all work (LAME 3.9 128k 44.100 Stereo) every time..

Infuriating, time consuming and very expensive.

We didn't experience any similar issues.

Most of the time an issue is located between keyboard and chair.
  • I have now identified a common factor.
It is very odd that only I find these problems, when I find it on two separate Airtime machines.
I have found traces of the same thing in old forum posts - which were ascribed to LS 'silence' handling or advised to restart LS and seemed to have no resolution. These people seem to have left.

  • The bad files play ok in MIXXX

  • Here is one smoking gun of a silent playing file that LOOKS like its working in the back end.
A dev told me mono playing is fixed. So this is strange.
