    Hi there im using icecast2 win32 server.
    And im using my local ip in the configuration of the server? But I goto canyouseeme.org type in port 8001 and gives me an error. I have port forwarded the port, but still says error. I use edcast and winamp to stream, so Im stuck please help.

    What do you want to do exactly ?
    streaming ? using you icecast win32 for airtime ?

    The Three levels for portforwarding are

    WAN  <=================> LAN <=================> PC.

    Your WAN 
    is your service provider (like cable modem). Usually fixed IP donot block ports so If You have a modem with a fixed IP no port is blocked (contact your provider or manual)

    Your LAN 
     is Your Own Router or Firewall (see http://portforward.com/)

    Your PC

    I think by default derivatives of debian (Mint,Ubuntu etc. do not accept Incoming traffic).i DO NOT KNOW IF DEBIAN ITSELF DOES

    The easiest thing for ubuntu is to enable ufw and allow the ports you want

    like this

    sudo enable ufw
    sudo ufw allow 8000
    sudo ufw allow ssh
    sudo ufw allow web

    web will include https and this will be needed to update your system

    if you have any other linux you will have to mess with the IPtables
