Installing Newscoop... grr
  • Hi,

I hope someone can explain this and help. I'm installing Newscoop and am putting in non-root mysql settings on the install database page. That user has full privileges etc.

My error log shows me something different: mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

I don't know why it's trying to login with root, especially as I'm not specifying root login details. I also noted that it is writing the correct sql schema, however I get a blank white page after I click 'next'

Hope someone can help - pulling my hair (i'm bald, almost) out!

  • Hi, Marc.
Your mysql user has all necessary rights for database newscoop?

  • Hi Ruslan Shilov,

Yes it does, full privileges on the account that created the tables inside the database. Still continues to go to a white screen and alerts me that it's trying to login as root, even though I didn't put root information! It's going nuts.

  • From the log: I changed my details to "www.mydomainname.co.uk"

  • Ok. You can try install newscoop via root user?  I think, if installation via root user will show same problems, maybe trouble in PDO extention.  PDO ext has same version with PHP?
