Is it just me?
  • Hello all

A few months ago, after a long search on the net, I decided to try Airtime for our radio shows (music and interviews). But despite many attempts, I cant still figure out how one can broadcast live whilst using whatever to do interviewing???????

I have read several threads here in the forum, but all in vain. I asked for help here...but nothing!!

Please, is there ANY one or a very well detailed information about HOW one can broadcast using some specific software (like Skype) to connect with one or more people to broadcast all at once. Is my question clear? Or do I need to add more info?

Please help, I will be so grateful if I can a clear shot on this issue

    Many thanks

    Ruth

    Hi Ruth & welcome aboard!
Since this is your first comment I am a little confused atm.
Did we miss one of your previous comments?

However, you want to live-broadcast? Watch the latest Screencast by Josh. http://www.sourcefabric.org/en/resources/screencasts/
This should include all information you'll need to setup your Live-Broadcast with Airtime & any Icecast-Client.

You are talking about Skype-Interviews, so maybe this is also interesting for you http://sourcefabric.booktype.pro/airtime-24-for-broadcasters/smartphone-journalism/

And there's an Android-App too, called "Broadcastmyself" which might also be interesting

    To recap:
    Install & configure Airtime-Server,
    Install & Configure Icecast-Client and Sound-Input on Remote-PC
    Configure Airtime-Showsource/Mastersource
Stream Live-Broadcast to Airtime-Server via Butt, edcast, etc.

If you need any further help, let us know!

    cheers, hoerich

  • Thanks a lot Hoerich, I do appreciate your effort to help.

The first link you placed, when I click there, the first video is not showing anything!!!

And the second link, does not talk anything about skype!??

I dont know, I feel this is too complicated.....is there any video showing how to start doing a live show?

    Thanks again

    Ruth

Setting up Skype on a Remote-PC does not have anything to do with Airtime itself.

If you are on Windows, you just have to setup the correct Sound-Device (MS Soundmapper, Default PCM Device, etc.) to record/stream to Airtime.

Just follow the steps of Josh's Screencast to setup Airtime and Remote-Icecast-Client.
After doing this, you just have to bring your Skype-Sounds to be recorded/streamed by Icecast-Client.

There are a bunch of discussions about using Skype here

    and for stream-skype globally
http://rezzable.com/blogs/prad-patel/tutorial-streaming-skype-conversations-online-shoutcast-server (explained with Winamp DSP-Plugin can be replaced with any other Icecast-Client (Butt, m3w, Mixxx, edcast,...)

It's not that hard to setup this. Once done, you know what it's worth for.

PS: Now I'm not confused anymore. In the past you have signed up and commented with a different username.

Do you have Airtime up & running yet?
Which Operating System do you use on your Skype-PC?
