Audio uploads not appearing in the playlist
  • Files uploaded by DJ's are not appearing in the playlist builder.

The files do appear under the 'organize' folder though, so if I do a manual
"sudo service airtime-media-monitor restart" on the command line, everything
get's moved into the file system and can be then added to a playlist.

    a) Does this seem familiar?
    b) What logs should I provide to see help figure out what's going on?

    THANKS!

  • Well...after reading a previous post and changing by hostname in airtime.conf and api_client...I was able to correct this issue.
  • Hey Albert,

So I am tailing the logs for  /var/log/airtime/media-monitor/media-monitor.log

I upload a song in the Add Media section. Nothing shows up in the logs at all.

In a different terminal window, I cd to the 'organize' folder and see that the file I uploaded is there. However, I cannot access it via the playlist builder.

    What should I try next?

    Thanks.

    media-monitor is alive ?

    try this :

    service airtime-media-monitor restart

    and

    airtime-log -t media-monitor

    copy/paste the result here ;-)
  • Hey Albert, here are my logs. The song I uploaded DOES SHOW UP but
it only seems to work if I restart the airtime-media-monitor.
Why do I have to keep restarting that?

    offhours@offhours:~$ sudo service airtime-media-monitor restart
    [sudo] password for offhours:
    Restarting Airtime Media Monitor: Done.

    offhours@offhours:~$ sudo airtime-log -t media-monitor

I then uploaded a song by a band called the Webs. Then it started outputting bunch of logs that I am attaching as a separate file. I believe that these are all the files that DJ's have been uploading throughout the week that they can't put into their playlist because they don't show up in the airtime playlist builder.

  • I'm also having this problem. Is there a way to update the update/restart the media folder remotely rather than commend line?

    all in /var/log/airtime :D
  • Alright, there are two zip files containing the logs.

The first zip file contains all the logs currently on the system. It's called logs.zip.

The second zip is after I cleared all the log files and then just tried to upload a few tracks here and there, and restart the media monitor. It's called 'later-logs.zip'.

  • Also of note - currently when I am trying to upload tracks I am seeing a little 'caution' symbol by the upload progress. Any thoughts on this?

    that's really strange...
your log said liquidsoap is not running...
perhaps you have a problem of domain name.

  • Reply to @Albert+FR:

How would I check the domain name problem?

BTW: Airtime was working fine for a long time on this system and then one day this issue just up and happened. I hadn't touched the server in quite a while.

perhaps you have problem with your hard drive...

I saw something anyway, you have tried to record something with the airtime recorder with no success, this one it is well configured ? have you respected the all necessary configuration (described into the airtime manual) ?
  • We dont' use the show-recorder. Someone may have tried that but we don't need that functionality.

Any other thoughts on what could be happening here?

I am trying to temporarily move the storage directory to the main hard drive and see if it resolves the issue.

  • Hi Garret, I'm sorry to hear about your problems.

Could you send me a private message with a link to the problem file, and I will take a look into this.
    Airtime Pro Hosting: http://airtime.pro
  • Still having this issue. Anything I can do to help resolve?
  • I had this problem when I was uploading files via FTP
I found it permission issue of folder and files.
  • What should the file permissions look like?
