    Rick,

    English is not Andrey's native tongue. There was no intention to control or
    whatever, the answer was missing an "unfortunately". It's like that for
    historic reasons. I am not sure how much work it would be to change it. If
    you are willing to contribute, please go to the Newscoop development
    forum/list and let's continue the discussion there.

    The answer that seems to be missing is; it is a lot of work.  It is not simply changed by one $var or setting in the config. It can be done, however at this time the way newscoop has been written, a lot of the code needs to be changed to support this. 

    I think the entire team has done an incredible job on newscoop, i am certain it did not get to the point it has by executing new ideas with a "cannot" philosophy :) seems it took a "can do" attitude, some creativity and open minded thinking.

    I will be happy to submit my work which allows the admin url to be changed for those who also may be interested.
