I Upload files, but after server reboot part of them is missing
  • Hello, i have a problem with database files. I add it to server from standart airtime uploader, for example 10 files. But after server restart i see only 5 or 6, any number other than 10. I have really big database of podcasts on 100gb. But i dont want copy it every time, when server is shut down. Who have same problem?

by the way. I see in media folders that name of files:
    DPJ64O~Y.MP3
    DE1HFM~B.MP3
    Digital Emotions (23.11.2011)-192kbps.mp3
    D4PQUF~H.MP3

why some files have strange names after import?

    SCREENSHOTS:

  • Hello,

Would you mind verifying if this is a problem in 2.1 beta6? We have a scheduled release for 2.1 next week, and we had a similar bug which should be fixed in this version.

Yesterday tested on Ubuntu 10.10 vbox. Unfortunately, this bug still not fixed.
I shutdown the server when airtime play. After reboot part of the files is unavealebale(((

I dont know how, where and when airtime write the file list, but maby you need simplify this function .. just take to airtime one folder to scan and collect files and add one big button - refresh .. i dont know( but this is really big hole in code

  • Hi,

This may have something to do with a bug where everytime the OS restarted, our services were started with a non UTF-8 locale, which would cause some files to be incorrectly imported. Please monitor the forums, we will be releasing an RC early next week and this should fix your problems.

If you'd like to provide some testing help, please simple install the latest Airtime from our development branch. Simply go here https://wiki.sourcefabric.org/display/CC/Developer+GIT+Setup and follow the instructions under github repo.

Make sure you have git installed (sudo apt-get install git), and after following those instructions you will have an Airtime directory from which you can install from.

you know, trouble with strange name of files - this is not serios problem, big problem, when part of files just disappear after reboot, my music database 100GB .. and this is hard, always reupload it to the server. I all time test all versions .. you product really amazing. But you need to fix this problem .. because it repeats not only, when server shutdown .. this problem i saw, when i just reboot the system, or halt it :)

    P.S.:
About feautures .. : it would be cool to do - random track playlist builder :)

  • Random playlist is a very high priority at the moment :)

Airtime 2.1.0 RC1 is now available. Please give it a try and let us know if your issues have been resolved.

  • @Evgeniy - Are you storing your tracks on NAS's or locally on the server?

In either event there were issues with UTF-8 locale AND NAS storage

The database would give up records if the NAS didn't come up and mount before the database did the file check

I still auto mount via FSTAB just in case although I don't think that's an issue any more

I've installed 2.1 RC1 and so far so good and all those issues seem to be addressed

Importing is MUCH quicker even with extended set ASCII characters in the file names

Looks like Martin et al are getting real close

Hmm not sure what the issue could be without some logs. Perhaps post the files in /var/log/airtime/pypo/
