Hi everyone,

Airtime 2.0.3 has been released, fixing security issues that were made aware of. The issues relate to pypo permissions and monit permissions and are deemed critical. Upgrade is strongly recommended for users of all versions of Airtime.

How to upgrade...

Airtime 2.0.x versions support upgrading from version 1.8.0 and above. If you are running a production server with a version of Airtime prior to 1.8.0, you should upgrade it to version 1.8.0 before continuing. Before upgrading any production Airtime server, you should back up.

If you have deployed Airtime using apt-get, install with:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

If you have used the manual method you should repeat the installation steps of downloading and unpacking the tarball to an installation directory, and running the airtime-install script. The installation script will detect an existing Airtime deployment and back up any configuration files that it finds.

Hi Albert, the package is there, try doing a:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install airtime

If you take a look at http://apt.sourcefabric.org/dists/natty/main/binary-amd64/Packages the top of the file shows:

Package: airtime
Version: 2.0.3-1

perhaps for the 64bits version, but I'm on a 32bit version
and no update for the moment...

Hi Albert, since the Liquidsoap binaries were moved to a separate package for the 2.0.0 release, the same Airtime package works on both 64-bit and 32-bit AMD/Intel servers. You will see the suffix on the package is now _all.deb, not _amd64.deb or_i386.deb as it was in the 1.9.x series.

Take a look at the 32-bit repo for Ubuntu Natty (11.04), you will see the Airtime 2.0.3 package listed there:

Just upgraded to Airtime 2.0.3 and everything seems fine, but there is a problem: it stopped sending signal to Icecast2 after 1 hour of working smoothly. Does anyone know what can be source of this problem?
After restarting 'with service airtime-playout restart' it works again, but I fear that it will stop after another hour or so.

I'll be grateful for help.

Airtime 2.0.3 didn't touch any files related to playout, so the upgrade shouldn't be related. I'm interested in seeing your logs though, perhaps we can see why playout stopped.

After starting at 19:49 it stopped at 20:49. Then I restarted playout at 23:05. I can't see any error or info about end of stream sending. Maybe other log file could be helpful?

Does anyone have the same problem? I tried many times again, and stil after being connected to Icecast for an hour or so (offline), the /airtime mount point disappears. Or maybe it's an Icecast problem, some sort of source timeout?

I've installed Airtime 2.0.3 on another computer and it's the same - so probably it's not the machine fault. To make it work again only playout restart works. Any ideas why?

Hi,

upgrade completed and system restarted correctly at 9.28AM GMT +1 today. After more than 1 hour Airtime 2.0.3 streams correctly to 3 different servers (2 Icecast, 1 shoutcast).

Some questions:

Are both computers using the same icecast server?

For the shows that are ending after an hour, do they have the same scheduled content?

Upgraded today from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3. As with the upgrade to 2.0.2, the on air light went off. I restarted airtime-playout and it kept going. Also, I had to go to my stream settings and click Save to reapply them because the first stream (MP3) was silent both in icecast and using the Listen button. If I switched between streams MP3 and OGG in the listen window, OGG #2 stream was fine but #1 was silent. After reapplying the stream settings with the save button the first stream was back in both places.

I have not had the stop after 1 hour issue mentioned above since upgrading to 2.0.2. However, checking back after a couple hours, the first stream in the Listen window was silent but not the second one. Also both streams were still working in Icecast. I switched back and forth between streams in the Listen window and noted is seemed to be a network congestion issue because there would be some seconds of playback and then break up and then silence. The second stream (ogg) was fine. Switching back to MP3, the pattern would repeat. Both streams are 128kb/s so I find it a bit odd.

We'll make sure this is resolved for 2.1.0 upgrade.

Sounds like it if the other stream was working without issue and both use the same Airtime source.

Airtime 2.1 is. Airtime 2.0.3 will require a custom compiled Liquidsoap binary. Of course, you can simply copy this file from the 2.1 release since it is backwards compatible.
