Multiple radio stations
  • Hi
I was going through a list of radio station projects, and this project one of the great products i have come across, i have browsed a lot to check if this support multiple stations with single instance, but found in some of the posts saying that its not yet implemented, can you please let me know when i look forward for this.

Also i have a question regarding a remote music library. in the current setup airtime manages its own music folder which it gets copied to.. Am i right on this? and is it possible to have a music library where all the music will be dumped instead of its own system, for instance if PC1 has a airtime installed i want all the music files uploaded / managed by the airtime to be dumped in PC2. i need this to make a centralized music so that even in adding multiple instance of airtime to balance my load the music is shared across the instance.

Awaiting for the reply and Thanks in advance

Not in the forseeable future, this is very low on the priority list. It's
much easier just to install multiple virtual machines if you want multiple
    radio stations.

If the remote directory can be mounted on PC1(for example, through Samba or
NFS), then Airtime should work normally; though this hasnt been tested.

  • Thanks for the reply paul, one more question i have, currently airtime manages to encode and send it to icecast, is it possible to change and provide my own encoder instead of airtime. In airtime documentation i found that its possible using liquidsoap, can you provide some pointers on this on how to do this? please help
  • Airtime uses Liquidsoap to send and encode its data to icecast.

Here is liquidsoap documentation on selecting a different encoder:
