playout liquidsoap and icecast failed
  • Hello there,
    i'm installing first time ubuntu-server 10.04 to run airtime.

    My test-system is a AMD Duron 1,2 GHZ with 1 GB-RAM + 250 GB-HDD
    Sound & LAN on Board

    After "Automated Installation" the following lines will closed the process:
    Quote:

    Playout_Engine_Process_ID = Failed
    Playout_Engine_Running_Seconds = Failed

    Liquidsoap_Process_ID = Failed
    Liquidsoap_Running_Seconds = Failed

    Icecast_Process_ID = Failed

    There appears to be problems with your setup. Please visit
    hxxp://wiki.sourcefourge.org/x/HABQ for troubleshooting info.

    Because i'm not sure about the real configuration, i installed a 'localhost' system. After this decision in the automated installation-routine i do not change anything in the upcomimg installation windows.

    My network consists in 2 win7-64 Desktops, 1 XP-Prof. Desktop, 1 iMac, 1 win7-64 Laptop, 1 QNap NAS, AVM 7270 and some GB-Switches plus 1 10/100 Switch (+ some multimedia network clients).

    I hope these are enough informations for you, to see perhaps where the problems.

    These are my "test-field". If airtime runs, Newscoop will installed too. All together later must be transfared on a hosted server.

    Many thanx for your regard.

    Please reboot the Airtime server and run airtime-system-check

    If it still doesn't work, we'll have to get more information from you.

    You can also try and go through the manual installation which takes about 7-10 minutes and try to spot which step of the installation fails.

    In the 1.8.2 version, you have to reboot after install. That should start
    those processes.

    Please communicate in English.

    Danke schön
  • O.K, sorry for the german entrys. Very Happy

    Now i have completed the configurations and wanne log-in over "localhost/login". The request is an empty page without anything.
    If i wrote in the network-url of the machine 192.168.... and so on, apache send an answer that the system works, but up to this time without any content.

    I can repeat this for example likes this way, 192.168.../airtime/ , and apache returnes a index page of the airtime-directory.

    But no airtime will start or replay a airtime mask.

    The airtime-check-system only found one problem, and this was the "airtime_version_url". But a nother guy wrote that this could be ignored.

    In my route i have opend port 8000 to 8000.
    Sad
  • Because i'm searching further for a solution, i got an idea. In my home network on the nas a squeezbox-server is running. So it guess that this eventually is my problem. Two 'localhost's at the same time.

    My question know is, is it possible to adjust the airtime-server and give them a new adress? For Example "airhost" or somthing like this.

    On the other hand it might be that "localhost" is not only a simple form of network adresse, but an tcp/ip protocoll order, isn't it?

    Maybe it were better to install all immediately on an a rented virtual server, and configure it under real conditions with real icecast output and real data-connectivity to my home nas.

    Well, actually it would my idea to test it first at home, to understand what all this do. But it seems to be more complicatet and brings other special problems.

    Little bit frustrating.

    If you have several sites running on your localhost and you think this is the issue, you can install Airtime on a virtual machine to test it out.
  • These Days i've found time to restard the system.

    After the system restarts, i changed to a second machine with windows and hacked "//airtime/" in my Firefox. A white page reports:
    "It works!
    This is the default web page for this server.
    The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet."

    But i did'nt find a way to login in airtime.
    "//airtime/login"

    Message displayed:
    "Not Found
    The requested URL /login was not found on this server."

    The second problem ist:
    after i've used to update the system like "apt-get update", reports are shown with note about "not closeable folders" oder "there are dublicated source.lst" or so. After restart, no errors shown.

    Is there nobody nearby (paderborn) to setup it with me together? Linux is def. not my thing Sad

    Hi Olaf -
    We offer an Airtime hosting service for a monthly fee, that would probably
    be a good option for you. Please contact me off list if you are interested.
