  • Albert,
    We are releasing version 1.9.2 in the very short future (this week)
    Debian package will follow shortly.

    We will release this version as soon as it's ready.
    It doesn't have a set launch date.

    debian/ubuntu packages soon avalaible ?
  • Hi,

    There is a testing package available here:
    http://forum.sourcefabric.org/index.php/t/3912/

    It looks like this is the package we will announce with the final 1.9.3 release this week.

    this is the one ?
  • Yes this is for 1.9.3. We are not having a 1.9.2 Debian package release.

    I saw on dev part 1.9.4 going out today Wink
    And, always the same question Wink
  • Where I can find 1.9.4 deb? Do you done this?

    1.9.4 will probably come out next week. There are only some very minor bug
    fixes in it. You can always look at JIRA to see what is in that release.
    Nothing to be excited about unless you have run into problems with your
    existing installation.

    Our official Debian package is close to being released, thanks for your
    patience.

  • Ajaj...
    So can I install 1.9.3-1.deb if I have 1.8.2 from APT repo?

    I am also thinking about new manual installation, because I don't have a lot of data in existing installation.

    Which way will be better?

    If you are an expert user, then manual packaging may be better. It will
    allow you to get the updates quicker. We are working on being able to
    release both the manual install and debian packages at the same time but
    right now the manual installs are being released first.

  • i was successiful using 1.8.2

    i just downloaded 1.9.3 deb package and installed with dpkg.

    that's the result:

  • Yes, I've contacted our package developer with your error, I'm not quite sure what the problem is, but it looks like the package might have an error in it (it's not creating an Airtime virtual env for your installation) ... waiting for feedback for your issue. If this is the case there's nothing really you can do to fix the issue right now... Confused I'll post here as soon as I get any info.
  • ok thank you very much. i see that i have again "localhost:80" in the airtime_version_url. last time i was installing 1.8.2 i solved some issues just configuring the "base_url" e "base_port" option [in pypo.cfg] with the FQDN instead of localhost. i tryed to do that in this 1.9.3 but nothing happens.

    (this issue seems pretty similiar: http://forum.sourcefabric.org/index.php/m/12111 but was solved with a RC3 install.. mumble..)
  • Can you please post whole output of install script?
    Thank you.

    Hi Lephio,

    If the system has an older version of python-mutagen installed, e.g. the official Debian/Ubuntu package, media-monitor uses that in preference to the copy of mutagen in the virtualenv.

    Also, it looks like your installation is broken somehow. So the workaround is to do:

    $ sudo apt-get remove python-mutagen
    $ sudo apt-get purge airtime
    $ wget http://apt.sourcefabric.org/misc/airtime_1.9.3-2_all.deb
    $ sudo dpkg -i airtime_1.9.3-2_all.deb

    Please let us know how you get on.

    Also, please check you have all dependencies installed with this command:

    sudo apt-get install tar gzip curl apache2 php5-pgsql libapache2-mod-php5 \
    php-pear php5-gd postgresql odbc-postgresql python2.6 lame libsoundtouch-ocaml \
    libvorbis-ocaml-dev libmp3lame-dev libtaglib-ocaml libao-ocaml libmad-ocaml \
    libesd0 icecast2 sudo libportaudio2 libsamplerate0 libcamomile-ocaml-dev \
    ecasound php5-curl mpg123 rabbitmq-server monit python-virtualenv
  • all dependencies are ok. i removed mutagen as you told me. the problem is still there Sad

  • ok, I gave the package a go on a nearly virgin ubuntu 10.04 version. I installed the dependencies you mention further up in the thread but dpkg -i stopped anyway because of some more. an apt-get -f install fixed them alomost, but hangs now on

  • up!

    issue is still here.. any news?

    thanks in advance
  • yes, please refrain from making announcements, when they are so far off target. I could easily have tried installing airtime manually but waited because the next debian package was supposed to be out in a week for some time now.

    Test Debian/Ubuntu packages for 1.9.x have been available for some time, but we don't make them 'official' until all known upgrade bugs are fixed. In the meantime you are welcome to install the test packages from http://apt.sourcefabric.org/misc/ but please use gdebi instead of dpkg because dpkg will not resolve dependencies for you.

    You should probably do an:

    apt-get purge airtime

    before attempting to reinstall. As for the problem here:

    ---Applying Patches for mutagen---
    patching file /usr/lib/airtime/airtime_virtualenv/lib/python2.6/site-packa ges/mutagen/mp3.py
    Hunk #1 FAILED at 151.
    Hunk #2 FAILED at 172.

    do you have the package 'patch' installed?

    Cheers!

    Daniel

    I appreciate your enthusiasm. :)

    You can install GDEBI on Ubuntu Server, that's how we are testing the
    packages.

    You also have the option of installing manually.

    The other option is to be patient until we have fixed all upgrade/install
    issues associated with the packages. It's quite complex and requires lots
    of testing as we are supporting upgrade all the way back to 1.7.0 on 4
    different platforms.

    It's coming soon, but I wont announce a date this time as requested :).
