    Hi guys,

I was wondering about the user types you can create as a admin. The question that we ran into, you got 3 types of users. Which of them can upload music ?

It would be lovely if it could be restricted per user. As some people should be able to upload there music for the shows and some shouldn't be allowed.

    cheers

Some things im running into while using airtime in the production environment ( im atm testing in the studio )

When setting the playlist search result to 100, or even 50 the list is so big that when i need and item from the bottom and need to add it to the playlist, i have to scroll way up to the top to do so. Dragging and item up while using youre page-up etc is not very handy.

Is there any due dates on shuffled playlist and the improved search windows so we can search and sort explorer style ? I really need to be able to sort by genre and sort music in to categories or folder trees.

Been playing around a bit more, so i added a part of our music collection to the database ( around 15000 songs ). Our collection is way bigger then those 15000.

placing a query to find a song takes quite a while ( 43 seconds ), think a tree view would reduce queries if they could be contained in a folder like structure ( then you only need to search part of the database that complies with the folder name )
Have a feeling that with every search atm airtime searches the whole database ( and every field of it ) which is a bit overkill in my opinion. Maybe a quick solve would be adding a dropdown box next to the search field where you can set search type ( or types )

    like :
    Search: [name]
    Search: [creator]
    Search: [genre]

which would cut down the amount of searches as well.

We have a ticket for creating a role that cannot edit the config files but still schedule shows:

    http://dev.sourcefabric.org/browse/CC-2338

But it might be easier in the long term to be able to create new role types with specific permissions (such as allow/disallow uploading, allow/disallow edit config etc.) that you mention.

Instead of dragging you can just click on the audio and the context menu will allow you to "add to playlist".

    Could you expand on this?

I feel kinda stupid now. I was so busy to not even try to left click..its that simple Wink

further a picture says more then thousand words. Although Dia was giving me hell. You could query by each expanding folder so the queries would be over a smaller amount of the data set if data in the database set would also have a subset with these parameters ( they could be created when importing )

Hi, you have to sign up to Jira and once you'll be logged in,
you'll be able to create a ticket.
This Create button will be on the top right on the screen.

  • Hey,

Thanks for the mockup! We're actually working on organizing music into folders using metadata tags. I'm not familiar with how it will be structured, Naomi might be able to elaborate more on this.
