[campsite-support] About subscription function
  • Hi!

    We've been reading Campsite manual here again but just want to clarify one thing that we know we are not using our time for nothing:

    Can we use subscription function in a way that the end-users order certain sections FOR FREE and when these sections get new articles they will be informed? All these articles would be PUBLIC anyway but the system would make automatic emails for people who would like to follow some selected sections.

  • There is no such feature built into campsite. Campsite can only send
    automatic emails to subscribers to let them know their subscriptions will
    end up soon.

  • You could use a RSS feed for this...

  • Hi,

    I was wondering what could make disk quota to exceed at night when there was no action in the Campsite. Nobody has added articles, files etc. The server went down due to the exceeded usage of space and that surely can create other problems.

    Here are some lines from error log (in first one the site is still online, in the second not):

    [Tue Feb 02 22:56:30 2010] [error] [client 109.xxx.15.yy] File does not exist: /home/webadmini/oursitenewssite.com/html/javascript/jscalendar/lang/calendar-en.js, referer: http://oursitenewssite.com/ee_EE/100/814/1834/?tpl54
    [Wed Feb 03 03:41:16 2010] [error] [client 66.249.68.98] PHP Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_mv83rnovepba1f68mi091nb6s1, O_RDWR) failed: Disk quota exceeded (122) in /home/webadmini/oursitenewssite.com/html/template_engine/classes/CampSession.php on line 81

  • Hi,

    It might be many different things causing the issue and not
    necessarily Campsite but the way your server is setup and how it is
    handling the resources. How big is the disk quota? What about your
    logs (system logs, web server logs, etc)? Are you storing all of them
    in the same quota space? Usually logs are the main source for this
    kind of troubles.
