Okay, first of all I got Booktype installed and working - but then, when I want to publish an ebook/pdf/whatever - do I need my own objavi installed somewhere? and what is Booki and is it needed to get this publishing going?

There are two things you can do. If your Booktype is hosted on public
IP you can set:

OBJAVI_URL = "http://objavi.booktype.pro/objavi.cgi"

in settings.py file (depending of how you host it you might need to
restart Booktype). The other option is to install your own Objavi
instance (and set OBJAVI_URL).

Ahh... using this URL things work - thanks man! :D Although, I do have to take a look at setting up my objavi, but it seems bit.. complicated, but not overly so.

I tried but no succes.

I made an ubuntu (12.04) virtual machine with virtualbox. I installed Booktype with Erkalovic's script (see http://forum.sourcefabric.org/discussion/14347/book-does-not-exist). I put OBJAVI_URL = "http://objavi.booktype.pro/objavi.cgi" in settings.py.

I have a public IP (in France, with Free, my Internet Provider, we have our stable IP and we can set a local IP in a Demilitarized Zone, then when I type my stable public IP, browsers open my ubuntu server).

I created a book with two chapters. I published. I got "Your book has been generated at this url: http://objavi.booktype.pro/books/aaa111-en-2012.09.12-19.09.17.pdf

But URL is not good, I have a 404 error.

Previous post said it was good. If someone have an idea...

You should put the address of your Booktype server there, so Objavi can fetch the book from it.

I put the public IP of my Booktype. And nothing : 404 error.
I went to http://objavi.booktype.pro/books/ and I didn't find my book named aaa111....pdf.

Apparently Objavi is unable to fetch the book from your Booktype. If you tell me the IP of your Booktype I can check the log to see what's happening. My email is borko.jandras@sourcefabric.org
