Some notes on installing Airtime on a clean Ubuntu server.
  • I had some difficulties installing Airtime on my Ubuntu 12.04LTS server - at least partly because it hosts multiple domains (using the excellent open source hosting system Virtualmin).

While it's not finding my audio stream yet, I did successfully install Airtime - so I thought I'd share my notes so far, so that when I show up later and ask stupid questions I'll have some built-up karma.  :-D

The document is here.  I'll be keeping it up to date as I make progress!

  • @Tom, Very nice!

BTW, I believe it is virtualmin's fault that your default system
encoding/locale was ASCII and not UTF-8. I've installed many Ubuntu systems
from scratch (desktop + server), and this is the default. It is only with
users install on a VPS that have these problems, and I can only assume it
is software like virtualmin/webmin etc. that do not set up the encoding
    locale correctly.
