    Doing that will just bring pulseaudio back. If you take a look at the
    dependencies, you can see there are a great many:

    http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/ubuntu-desktop

    For an Airtime production server, you don't need most of these packages
    anyway.

    General package upgrades will still work. If you are really concerned
    about this, you can reinstall ubuntu-desktop before performing your next
    system upgrade.
