    Subject: campcaster issues

    Hey.

My name is Sawyer and I'm part of an independent DIY radio station in
    Israel.
We're looking into CampCaster for a radio management solution, but we came
across some problems and we were wondering if you could help us understand
    them;
    - When we try to import (using import.sh) we ran across two problems:
    1. the import.sh crashes when non music files are used. for some reason
the import.php doesn't screen them out. i've checked the code and it's
solid but still it doesn't work. i've wrote around this by changing the
    find to:
find "$srcabsdir" -type f -iname '*.ogg' -or -iname '*.mp3' -or -iname
'*.wav' -or -iname '*.mpg' -or -iname '*.mpeg'
    2. the import.sh gets a segmentation fault when trying to connect to a
database. it doesn't exit with an error, it gets a segfault.
how do we set up the database?
    3. the import.sh doesn't make sure a file is already imported so it can
import the same file a lot of times
    4. if we add more files to a certain folder, we need to reimport the whole
folder or that specific folder.do you have a suggestion?
    5. where does it save the imported files? we don't have enough hard disk
space to create a copy of all our files, it's a complete waste. is there
any way to just read files from where they are instead of copying them
elsewhere? does it really create a complete copy?

    - in the playlist, you cannot do random play. this is very difficult.
    - if we put a long playlist for the day and another song at a specific
time (using the scheduler), the scheduler will cut off whichever song is
played in the previous playlist in order to start the scheduled song. it
just cuts it off and it doesn't sound good at all. is it possible to have
the scheduler let the current song play until it's done and only then stop
the first playlist and play the current scheduled song/playlist?

is there any place to find more documentation of Campcaster? it seems like
such an excellent program, we just don't understand a lot of things there.
for example, what's the hub? what's the transfers?

i'm myself am also a programmer (bash, perl, etc.) and maybe i could help
with fixing some of these things. i would glad to be of assistance.

    thanks for a great program
and thanks in advanced for answering our inquiries.
    Sawyer and RasiaRadio.
