I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 and wanted to have another go at
installing Campcaster I've tried using the console and the Synaptic
package manager along with the video tutorial on installing but I'm
still getting stuck with dependency issues.
Install begins ok and a message comes up saying
To be installed
libglademm-2.4-1c2a
Click OK install starts and fails with an

Hi Mark,We have some known issues with the new Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic" right now. Over on the campcaster-dev list we're trying to figure out what's causing those problems (Ferenc Gerlits seems to think it's something with libodbc++, but it might be something else. As soon as we get this figured out, we'll be sure to let everyone know on the support list about it.If you are a developer, though, we'd certainly welcome the help. It looks like your errors have more to do with the Debian package manifest, which may specify older versions of packages than those in Karmic. However, I still think the bigger problem is getting to a build that works under Karmic.Hope this helps, and I hope it doesn't inconvenience you too greatly, douglas=============================================Media Development Loan Fund=============================================Douglas ArellanesConsultantCenter for Advanced Media--Prague (CAMP)Salvatorska 10, 110 00 Praha 1Czech RepublicTel: + 420 224 312 832, Fax: +420 224 315 419Mobile: +420 724 073 364Skype and Yahoo IM: dougiegyrohttp://www.campware.orghttp://www.mdlf.org=============================================http://www.mdlf.org=============================================This message is intended for the use of the individual(s) or entity(ies) to which it is addressed only. I think you still have the old 1.3.0-1 packages (which were built for
Ubuntu dapper, 6.06) in your system, half-installed. Please open
Synaptic (System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager),
search for "campcaster" and remove all campcaster packages. It's best
to use "Complete Removal".
After that, you can try installing version 1.4.0-3beta3, though it is
not guaranteed to work, since that was not built for Ubuntu 9.10
either, but (I think) 9.04. Doug is working on building new packages
for 9.10, but there are some problems, so it may take some time.
I'm using Debian squeeze
dpkg -l shows version 1.4.0-3beta3 to be installed
||/ Name Version Description

rc campcaster-station 1.4.0-3beta3 A radio program automation and support tool.
rc campcaster-studio 1.4.0-3beta3 A radio program automation and support tool.
As you can see campcaster-libs installed fine

Hi Barry,I'm not sure where exactly the installation is going wrong. However, we are currently working on a new set of packages that will build both on Debian testing and Ubuntu Karmic. Campcaster's development environment builds under Ubuntu Karmic - that's been the case for about a week.If you're interested in giving the development environment a try instead, you might want to check out this wiki howto:http://trac.campware.org/campcaster/wiki/DevelopmentEnvironmentOtherwise, we hope to see these packages in the next couple of weeks, if not sooner; I'll post the announcement as soon as we get it.doug=============================================Media Development Loan Fund=============================================Douglas ArellanesConsultantCenter for Advanced Media--Prague (CAMP)Salvatorska 10, 110 00 Praha 1Czech RepublicTel: + 420 224 312 832, Fax: +420 224 315 419Mobile: +420 724 073 364Skype and Yahoo IM: dougiegyrohttp://www.campware.orghttp://www.mdlf.org=============================================http://www.mdlf.org=============================================This message is intended for the use of the individual(s) or entity(ies) to which it is addressed only.
