Hi my name is Aaron Trozzo and I am the Program Drector at the
campus/community radio station CKXU 88.3FM in Lethbridge AB, Canada.
Campcaster is a vital part of our programming and has been very
reliable in the past. But since yesterday, I've had no luck pulling up the
HTML scheduling interface. I've tried multiple computers that I know are
hookd up to the network we have established, but the page simpy times out.
Our previous program director set campcaster up on a Linux system,

Hi Aaron,Good to know Campcaster is being used at CXKU. I'd love to know more about how you're using it, but right now let's try to get it back up and running. The first step is to see if the computer itself is down, or if it's only the Campcaster application that's causing a problem. If you're using Campcaster Studio (the desktop application) as well, can you schedule items? If you're not using Campcaster Studio and only the web interface, you can try to send a 'ping' message to that computer to see if it responds. You can do that even from a Windows computer by going Start -> Run and then type: cmd That will bring up a window with the old-school DOS prompt. Then type this command to see if the server itself needs to be restarted:ping <servername>where the servername is whatever the name of the server is on your network, either a name like campware.org, or an IP address like 145.21.9.201.If everything is working right, you should get responses that look something like this (in my case I'm pinging Campware.org, but you should put in your server name):C:\Documents and Settings\douglas>ping campware.orgPinging campware.org [92.51.163.146] with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 92.51.163.146: bytes2 time2ms TTLUReply from 92.51.163.146: bytes2 time3ms TTLUReply from 92.51.163.146: bytes2 time2ms TTLUReply from 92.51.163.146: bytes2 time2ms TTLUPing statistics for 92.51.163.146: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 32ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 32msC:\Documents and Settings\douglas>If that works and looks good, then you've narrowed the problem down and it's a question of restarting Campcaster. But restarting the computer without your Linux person, that might be a bit tricky. I guess you could physically try to restart the computer.Hope this helps, douglas=============================================Media Development Loan Fund=============================================Douglas ArellanesHead of Research and DevelopmentCenter for Advanced Media--Prague (CAMP)Salvatorska 10, 110 00 Praha 1Czech RepublicTel: + 420 224 312 832, Fax: +420 224 315 419Mobile: +420 724 073 364Skype and Yahoo IM: dougiegyrohttp://www.campware.orghttp://www.mdlf.org=============================================http://www.mdlf.org=============================================-----campcaster-support-bounces@lists.campware.org wrote: -----To: campcaster-support@lists.campware.orgFrom: "Aaron Trozzo" <program@ckxu.com>Sent by: campcaster-support-bounces@lists.campware.orgDate: 09/08/2009 04:53PMSubject: [campcaster-support] HTML Scheduling interface issue.Hi my name is Aaron Trozzo and I am the Program Drector at the

Our previous program director set campcaster up on a Linux system,
which I am rather unfirmilliar with. He had a well rounded computer
science background. I find my new media design skills are failing in this
situation. He left the station without showing me the technical side of
troubleshooting this program.
Any suggestions? Areas in the Forum I
can look up for help?
