altough I just emailed this to contact@campware.org, I also post it here.
Just found out about the existence of a mailinglist..
We've got one more set-up question (or actually two). We've configured our
Ubuntu 8.04 server and we've imported our music. We've also installed and
configured our Broadcast PC with Ubuntu Studio 7.10. There are also about
15 journalists workstations (also with ubuntu studio 7.10), but that
doesn't really matter.
We've actually got two problems:
1.
The scheduler is working fine, but we don't know how to set the audio
output from the scheduler to the broadcast PC. We've tried editing the
GStreamer Audio player to ':hw:0.0' in
campcaster-scheduler.xml (on the server) but that doesn't work.
(We need this because the server doesn't have a soundcard and because the
server is far away from the mixer)
2.
Although we've got NFS going (maybe you should also add something in the
howto for how to set this up with a server without X ) and with
campcaster-studio we can browse our library, but when we try to load (into
scratchpad, or any other thing) it, it gives something like: error in
SearchWindow::onAddToScratchpad(): XML-RPC method
'locstor.downloadMetadataOpen' returned error message:
805 - xr_downloadMetadataOpen: BasicStor::bsAccess: real file not found
(/opt/campcaster/var/Campcaster/storageServer/var/stor/33d/33d0e674654fdaa0.xml)
and the strange thing is that on the server there is nothing inside the
33d folder. Maybe this is because we've added the audio with the --link
function instead of copy? But it's strange that the scheduler actually can
find it. So maybe it's something with NFS? But that's also strange since
it can find the file in the library.
We're looking forward to your answer.
Kindest regards,
Niels ten Oever and Belete Asnake
PS Maybe you are wondering why we are using this setup: it's because the
server is there for sharing the pieces of work, the music and everything
over the whole network. if we used a normal PC for this, there would be a
reasonable chance that during multiple harddisk actions the PC would
freeze. this would ofcourse be devastating for the live program
(especially if playing from campcaster, but also if people are just
playing music).
PS2 Where can you change the station's time? System Clock or can you also
do something custom?
PS3 the link on the frontpage of your website to the video tutorials for
campcaster doesn't work (http://cc_tut.redall.de/)
