As stated in an earlier post, I'm scrambling to get Campcaster
configured to get an LPFM station on the air tomorrow.
Since I have been unable to get my Soundblaster sound card to output
sound, I have decided to fall back and use the onboard Intel sound
device "hw:0,0".
This device works for other apps, and it works in Campcaster when I
click the Test buttons in the Options/Sound tab. (I now have both the
Cue and Live Mode devices set to the default device hw:0,0.).
But I can't get Scheduler to output any sound. Thus there is no sound to
feed to the transmitter.
I have edited /opt/campcaster/etc/campcaster-scheduler.xml to use this
device (or so I think):
One possible clue is this: When I try to stop the scheduler, I get the
following error message:
XML-RPC method 'stopCurrentlyPlaying' returned error message:
[faultCode:5010,faultString:GstreamerPlayer not opened yet]
So I need to get Scheduler to get gstreamer to start.
It's not clear just what gstreamer is. I don't find a GSstreamer,
gstreamer, GstreamerPlayer, or gstreamerPlayer in the path, but then I
get the impression that it isn't a program in the first place.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
- John

Progress report:
I can now get Scheduler to produce sound, but only when I start it up
with campcaster-scheduler.sh in /opt/campcaster/bin instead of
/etc/init.d/campcaster-scheduler.
Does anyone know why there are two startup scripts and what the
difference is supposed to be?
Thanks,
- John
