The 1.0 builds look pretty good. Here are my first impressions:
- On my 1.1 mhz PIII, the playlists play nearly instantaneously; there's a
delay of about a second, but I personally can live with that. Let's see
what Robert says.
- The new file upload window is greatly improved, but there are minor
glitches that Ferenc knows about; the 'music' tab shows up super long and
without a scrollbar.
- The biggest issue I can see so far has to do with - I think - screen
redraw. The Live Mode window goes blank sometimes; items are in the queue,
but it looks empty. Closing the window and reopening it brings the correct
view back. In addition, the search and playlist windows sometimes show up
completely minimized. But closing and reopening them also fixes them. When
this happens, there is no way to exit the program using the 'log out' and
, although it can be closed from the taskbar.
- Sometimes, but not always, I can hear clicks at the end of files,
especially Robert Klajn's jingles, which are 192Kbps/44.1 khz Oggs.
- It seems the search/browse window is sped up because of the changes to
the storage server.
OK. That's it for me for now. Looking forward to your impressions and bug
reports.
