Apparantly, the theory behind software radio... is that with the right
hardware (a wide band A/D<->D/A converter, prototypes are also shown on
the website) can give an individual the ability to receive/transmit on
any part of the radio spectrum... using software as a replacement for
the electronic configuration of the radio... meaning with one device...
you could transmit/recieve AM, FM, UHF, VHF, etc. Your laptop could be a
garage door opener one second and with the push of a button, you could
be using it as a cell phone, or a 802.11 wireless card, a TV, or
bluetooth, or your TV remote control.
