I've managed to bring up the sound correctly. Seems the SB Live needs to
run at a 48Khz sample rate, and ran well at 16bit. Even though it's a
24-bit card, that's all the drivers support at this point.
But now that the K test sound works, XMMS is having issues. Go figure.

compatibility. I have a SoundBlaster Live! card that is discovered and
configured by alsaconf, but when I try to play sound from it, the sound is
choppy.
I've read lots of things about the SoundBlaster Live and ALSA, and
understand that the drivers aren't fully there yet, but they do work
partially. But what would make sound output choppy, in your experience?
