Campsite can do most of what you want out of the box.
While Campsite has built-in support for subscriptions, what it can't do is
the automatic link to a payment system; I think you'll be hard-pressed to
find an open source CMS that does that (and if you do find one that does,
please let us know). Campsite has a pretty good user management system,
and what we're working at this moment is linking it to Cream, our very
powerful CRM for media organizations.
Campsite also supports IP-based subscriptions, where all companies on a
local area network can have access to the subscriber content.
The question about some formatting is that it depends on what you define
as 'some'. Simple things like bold, italic, and underline do copy over,
but tables are another issue.
Images can be handled in a number of ways, including inline in the article
text field.
Hope this helps,
douglas

Subject: [campsite-support] [Campsite Support] Trying to save myself some time
.....
The Campware suite looks great but I'm still not absolutely clear if I can
achieve what I want to (and whether it's worth trying to sort out the
issues with my shared host). I would be great if I could get a quick idea
here to save me installing the packages to find out for myself. This is
what I want to do:
1. Put content on to a website - text and images - which will be read
on-line i.e. not downloaded as explicit files.
1a. Be able to paste from MS Word retaining some formatting - although I'd
need to upload and place images manually I expect.
2. Manage paid for subscriptions to view the material on a recurring basis
e.g. one year.
3. Manage the subscriptions automatically from within the same tool/suite.
4. With 3. above link this to a method of payment e.g. paypal.
5. Create subscriptions for individuals and groups.
6. Be able to include different versions of the material in a subscription
(to cater for those migrating from one version of the software to
another).
All help greatly appreciated (plus any suggestions for OS alternatives if
Campware is not suitable).
