Charles,
please see the screenshot attached, which shows the current
implementation of the login window. as you'll notice for sure, this
looks a bit different than your design - what I'd need is similar sizing
guidelines as for the master panel.. if you'd be so kind to specify
these details...

first of all let me say that i'm very encouraged by the way things
are looking, even if they're a bit rough. looks good.
I hope this graphic I'm sending you is what you need. Let em know
if you need anything else.
Charles

yes, this is what I was needing, thanks!
a small clarification, though: even though the contents are centered,
the content section itself is left-aligned, right? (I mean, the
Login-label is left aligned to the login entry box, etc..)

actually, I have some more questions: the size of the central column in
this window (the login / password label, the text entires) - are these
fixed size, or are they relative to the width of the window, say 1/3rd
window width?

The general rule is that the content should be balanced within a five
pixel padding inside the window. in the case of the login window I made
it bigger, because there was so little content. but generally the
content should spread out to fill the palette except for 5 pixels on
all sides. If you want to make it consistent across all cases, which
may be a very good idea, we should just say that the content should be
displayed in a box that accommodates it snugly with a 5pixel white
padding around it, and that's it. I hope that's not too confusing.
In the case of the windows the sizes are fixed, (non-stretchable), so
they should just be comfortably constructed to fit the content as
shown.
in the case of the metadata box, I have its dimensions as: 496w x 222h

the border of the metadata box is just a single pixel box of the
color#7A8F9C
do you need graphics for that?

no, thanks for the guideline. if I'd want to make the login window
according to the above uniform rule, I should make it narrower than your
original design, as the contents would reach to the borders of the
window (less 5 pixels), right?

ok.
one more thing: in the new design for the file upload window, there's a
border around the tab contents (main / music / etc). could you cut that
up into bitmaps, and send it as well?
thanks,
Akos
