[livesupport-dev] does ScratchPad keep everything?
  • After chatting with Doug, we are not sure what ScratchPad should keep
automatically (automatically means without special action to add item, like
    uploadet files).

One thought: "actually, I thought the scratchpad was the place were any file
    that is 'touched' would go"

We will have context-menu-entry (or link) on search-results "add to active
playlist". This file will added to an formerly activated playlist. Than it

    Let's hear it!

It's actually important to make sure that the Scratchpad functionality is=20
as similar as possible between the two clients, so Akos please give us=20
    more detail.

That is, unless my irony filters are malfunctioning today... Wink))

I'm for simplicitiy and clarity. I don't see the point in invetning
complex rules when to and not to put things into the scratchpad that the
user has touched. (say, we put stuff in there on Wednesdays, but only on
odd weeks, no entires beginnig with 'B' and ending with 'ears' (sorry
    Brittney Smile, etc. etc.)

So the original concept should stand: if a user touches it, it's in the
    scratchpad?

    No need to overdrive complexity.

I guess: ScratchPad is like clipboard. I put things on my clipboard for
later use; in LS thats files from search and uploadet stuff. If i open a
file in editor program, and this would be playlist-editing in LS, i don?t
put it on the clipboard first just to remove it later.

It?s up to the concept people. Just think on this case: if user takes action
"New playlist using this file" will the playlist go to SP, the touched file
itself, or booth? Keeping too much will force user to waste time on garbage
    collection.
