[campsite-dev] Rename "Automatic Publishing" to "Scheduled Actions&qu
  • I'm wondering if it might make more sense to call "Automatic Publishing"
-> "Scheduled Actions"? I think "Publishing" is misleading because in
this screen you can also Unpublish something. Also, there could be more
actions in the future which dont have anything to do with publishing.
    Silence indicates consent. Smile

    Nope. No way.

We have to be more clever than that. I agree that Automatic Publishing is
a bit of a misnomer, but it is way better than Scheduled Actions. We have
to be end-user friendly, so no geekspeek, no matter how accurate the geeky
    expression may be.

So keep trying. I will try to think of something better, but for now,
"Automatic Publishing" the best we've got.

  • Ok, I thought that it was confusing (and some other people have wondered
what it is), and I thought the word "schedule" would indicate its
function better. What about "scheduled publishing"?

    format=flowed;

Some hints from the MOW team:
    - logo should link to the start page of the admin interface
    - line with 'you are here' navigation would be probably useful
    - elements of navigation should be grouped
    - column 'delete' may have checkboxes for multiple deletion (when the
    'update list' button is pressed)

Take a look at this screenshot.

  • Very nice thinking Smile. I would say, it's more common to have only one
column with check boxes. In that case you'd have two buttons on the
bottom ('unbind selected' and 'delete selected').

    Best,

    Hey all

I was rather pleased at myself for an implementation of one of these
    'multi-action' gizmos recently.
It's got little bit of javascript, but it very gracefully degrades, I've
tested it with lynx and it's quite usable. Perhaps it might be useful to
    you guys.
See attached html page. Just plain vanilla at this stage.

  • To see an example how it looks when you have check boxes in every list
(in this case as multiple delete) go here
http://campino-dev.mdlf.org:8080/cream/app/ and login as an user 'test'
with the password 'test'. Go to any list, check multiple rows and click
    on the delete icon.

"Scheduled Publishing" sounds OK, so if nobody else objects to it, let's
    change it then.
