Re: [campsite-support] Disappointed
  • Hi Lee,

I wanted to reply right away, but then I forgot the half-finished message
    in my drafts folder.

So. Sorry to hear you are disappointed.

Campsite, like any other software, is not perfect, but it is being used in
production settings the world over without any hitches (the latest revamped
    deployment is http://elperiodico.com.gt).

I haven't kept track of your particular server setup (what OS, what
Campsite version), but perhaps the bugs you've seen are a result of that
particular constellation or could be silly bugs in the admin interface
(yes, the admin interface code is old and needs to be rewritten). Regarding
the returned mail problem was someone's "forward thinking" (the correct
address is campsite-support@campware.org, and we've been planning for a
long time to move everything to @lists.campware.org ... except that this
task gets postponed over and over). So thanks for pointing it out, we fixed
    that bug, among many others.

In any case, thanks for your interest in Campsite.

    All the best,

    Sava

I really thought Campsite would be the management system for me and perhaps
it will be down the road. Just a little too buggy for production at the
    moment.

My last issue, twice now, I have added numerous articles to my site and
    then encounter this error:

    Campsite has encountered a problem.

Please take a minute to send us an email.

Simply copy and paste the error report below and send it to:
    campsite-support@lists.campware.org.

    Thank you.

I tried e-mailing the error as requested, but it was returned to me as
    undeliverable.

Keep up the good work as you have the makings of a fine program. It simply
is not ready for production at this time.

  • Sava,

http://elperiodico.com.gt/ is a very good example of implementation. It's I agree and I like also the design.

The main question is which how they used the tags to get that arrangement of info / articles on page.

If I could genereate the same way pages I will be very happy.

At this momment it seems to be impossible..

  • Hi Gabi,

It's not impossible, it just needs work and reading the documentation. It's
impossible to do it in a couple of days, that I agree with.
