[campsite-support] 4 tiny questions and 1 bigger one
  • Hi,

some tiny separate questions about the system:

    1) Can we set up an administrator and Chief Editor accounts in that
way that they are NOT receiving an email notice of every change or
addition in the system? (only one administrator is enough getting these)

    2) It is possible to link straight to an article by giving a link to
somebody. How about linking to a specific attachment? I was trying to
get the download link form admin (article page) but I get this:
"Error: At initialization: Invalid language code 'attachment' in URL."

    3) Can you send email feedback via a form, ideally in a way that the
response given could be tied to a specific article, and also be
    accessible through a direct link?

    4) Is it possible to send press-releases / article links via email?
These wouldn't be automatic but merely for selected people and
different articles goes to different people.

This question may be a bit bigger:

    - Is there any way / tool to import previous news articles for this
system? Of course it is possible manually to add them but when you
want lots of articles from totally different type of system imported
here, it is not very feasible to add them one by one.

It would be nice if any of you have any experience on these issues.
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, if you have already created the users, go to Users/Staff, select the
user, click on Click here to customize user permissions, then uncheck the
User will be notified on several events option.

You can also change the default settings for those user types by going to
Users/StafF User Types, or create your custom user types.

I am not sure I understand your question completely. In any case, in the
article edit page, you can go to (Link to public page), right click and
then save the url. Or you get it from the front end (public site). You can
also do the latter with the attachments (e.g. if you want to mail a link to
an attachment). Otherwise, you can create links to other articles via the
Internal Link button in the WYSIWYG editor.

You can create such forms, but there is no straightforward way how to tie
it to a specific article. Can you describe the use-case scenario a bit
(especially the "accessible through a direct link" part).

Hm, again, can you describe it a bit more. There is a way to use the
Campsite subscription feature and tie it with the Cream CRM to send out
newsletters, or individual articles, or whatever to select people (with all
the regular CRM filters), but I am not sure that was the question.

Some people have done it in the past, but we're just about to implement a
standard way of doing this. (Please see:

    All the best,
