SmartBlocks not being very smart - Airtime Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

I did the following:

1) Create a SmartBlock with criteria based on Genre

2) Create a playlist which includes that SmartBlock (among others, interleaved)

3) Insert the playlist into a linked weekly show. Everything plays nicely per the SmartBlock

4) Update the SmartBlock to change the criteria

Guess what is playing? I''d expect it'd be the new criteria. But it's not, it's the old criteria.

Do SmartBlocks not update/refresh every time the show plays? Does it not also check the criteria to see if updated?

In other words, is this a bug, a missing feature, or is there some extra step required which I failed to take?

Alas, it is not a bug - it is how it works. :( The smartbock creates the playout list when the smartbock is added to the show. Re-adding the block to that show would fix that as it would then make a new playout list for the show.
