Crontab empty

    Hi
    I'm trying to install Newscoop on a Redhat VM and I've got stuck here:
    crontab -u apache -e

    The file appears empty and when I try and enter the following commands:

    * * * * * /var/lib/newscoop/bin/newscoop-autopublish
    0 */4 * * * /var/lib/newscoop/bin/newscoop-indexer --silent
    0 */8 * * * /var/lib/newscoop/bin/subscription-notifier
    */2 * * * * /var/lib/newscoop/bin/events-notifier
    0 */4 * * * /var/lib/newscoop/bin/newscoop-statistics

    I get an error:

    E748: No previously used register

    If anyone could help me past this step I'd really appreciate it.
