Issue with sourcefabric repo on Debian 7.2 - Airtime Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

Hi there,

I just received a Debian 7.2 VPS and I try to install airtime.

I've followed this procedure : http://en.flossmanuals.net/airtime-en-2-0/easy-setup/

But when I get to apt-get install airtime I got an error saying it can't find the package.

The apt-get update didn't actually show the http://apt.sourcefabric.org/ line anywhere.

I tried to move the line (deb http://apt.sourcefabric.org/ wheezy main) from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sourcefabric.list to /etc/apt/sources.list but the problem remains. apt-get update doesn't seem to parse this specific line.

I've tested to uncomment the second repo in the sourcefabric.list (even if i'm not supposed to need it) and this one appears okay in apt-get when updating.

If i check the /var/lib/apt/lists directory I find all the repos I've added (including deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main) but not the sourcefabric one ...

Any idea people ?

Hi Laurent, you have a few different issues there. Firstly I would point you to the current manual which is http://sourcefabric.booktype.pro/airtime-25-for-broadcasters/ as you are reading a very old version.

Second issue is that your apt-get update is failing because you have old repos listed for etch and squeeze. The codename for Debian 7.2 is wheezy. So you need to comment out these lines from sources.list:

deb http://ftp.easynet.be/ftp/debian/ etch main non-free contrib

deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main contrib non-free

and comment out this line from sourcefabric.list:

deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main

Also check for any references to http://repos.zend.com as these may also be out of date, with the command:

grep -r zend.com /etc/apt/

Then run as root:

apt-get update; apt-get install sourcefabric-keyring

Well, thanks for the link, unfortunately the problem remains the same. I can't find a way for apt to see the sourcefabric repo for some reason.

Hey Laurent,

I have tried the procedure on Debian 7 and it works for me so I would like to clarify what you did.

Let me write my procedure:

Added: deb http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main to sources.list

Downloaded artime-easy-setup with wget http://apt.sourcefabric.org/misc/airtime-easy-setup.deb

typed following to console:

sudo apt-get install gdebi

sudo gdebi airtime-easy-setup.deb

sudo update

sudo apt-get install airtime

and it worked.

There is nothing else added to sources.list (except previously mentioned backport).

Welle thanks a lot Daniel that was it. I didn't dare to remove autoadded repos but it was it.

I did run in some more trouble further in the way but I'll create a new ticket if don't find any solution online.
