How to update site after template change

    Greetings all.
    I've been making some changes to the theme templates, but nothing is showing changed on the front page.
    Specifically, I have changed the wording in the footer section.
    I edited /_tpl/footer.tpl

    <div class="span3 about-us right-separator visible-desktop">
                            <h4>{{ #aboutUs# }}</h4>
                            <p>
                                I put new text here.<br>

    I go to the front page, refresh refresh refresh clean cache and even wait a long time and nothing changes. Is there a step I'm missing somewhere?

    Might be that you are changing template in the theme in /unassigned folder, and this is just the storage place for themes. The working one, assigned to your publication, should be in accessible in themes management but in another tab that is called the same as your publication (or, if you're accessing the themes using ftp, it is somethnig like /themes/publication_1/theme_1/)
