We have a few instances of newscoop on a vps - i had our vps provider install the mbstring component as i need it for a directory on one of the sites
Since this has been installed no photos can be uploaded in newscoop
obviously this has to be the problem but i cant figure out how the Mbstring function is related to photo uploads or is there a workaround i can do so i can keep the Mbstring installed
it did originally create a null photo so i deleted that from sql and the actual pic but not you click attach - drag over your pic - upload - get the green tick - when it goes back to the page - nothing in images and nothing online

well the mbstring has been removed now there seems to be 2 different errors
the site that i sent the log file from - when you upload the picture and click the - Next: Upload and edit the Metadata - that screen is blank - always has been - when you click the x - the picture is not in the images
when i checked the logs nothing was in there for the time i tried
the 2nd error is exactly the same but this time when you click the next: upload and edit meta data - again it should be blank but now i get the Fatal error: Call to undefined function posix_getuid() in /home/lincolns/public_html/classes/Image.php on line 1250 - error
asked my hoster to enable the posix and he replied with
This presents us with another issue, POSIX library isn't compatible with the way your server is setup - i don't know if/how this was ever enabled. It might be that a new update to cPanel has disabled POSIX for certain configurations.
now i just have internal 500 errors on all newscoop sites
