Can't broadcast Live with Ubuntu 10.4 Virtualbox - Airtime Support Discussions on Sourcefabric Forum

Hi there

I can't broadcast live via Mixx to Airtime because I'm unable to connect to the server.

I can login etc fine but just can't stream live.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 on a Windows 7 machine using Virtualbox

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hard to say from this point...
MasterSource or ShowSource?
Try to not use Ports 8000-8002 for Incoming Sources. Try 8003-8008 for this.
If ShowSource, is the show assigned to the correct user?

I'm using mastersource at the minute, not attempted show source yet.

I've tried all those ports as suggested

do you use nat or bridge connexion from virtualbox ?

in this case, that's normal
your virtual machine and your host are not on the same network
try nat

and for example if your host is 192.168.0.1 your virtual take an another adress on the same network, like 19.168.0.2

If I use NAt then I can't login to Airtime at all

that's only possible with nat
are you behind a router ?

Yesh I'm behind a router, I'm familiar with port forwarding but not sute which ports to forward if that's the case

If you are behind a router, nat could not be a problem for you
but you router (for facility reasons) could be in dhcp mode
try and come back
