Hi,

I want to assign a smarty variable inside a php code. I do that

$this->assign('intro','true');

but it fails to interpret the script. I am using newscoop 4.03. What's wrong with this code ? I read this in the newscoop cookbook manual page 142.

I would try

$template->assign('var_name', $var_value);

Just a hunch, don't really know: Newscoop comes with Smarty3 now which does not allow the PHP code anymore...? The cookbook is written for Newscoop 3 which ships with Smarty2.

As I said, this is just an educated guess.
