Hello folks,

i found your awesome software and wondered, whether it was possible to provide it for the Synology NAS. These little Network Storage Devices feature Linux and therefore might be able to run your software.

As Synology provides a lot of information about developing software, it would be possible to create a small package called spk(similar as an exe file) that enables the user to install the software with one click.

The website is http://www.synology.com just in case you are interested.

I think it is a big opportunity because no similar applications like yours are available and Synology has a big userbase.

As you can read on the airtime manual
airtime have some mandatories :

512 Mo RAM
a faster processor (for encoding, restreaming, etc)
and a linux based system (debian or ubuntu for the moment)

Well the new generation for example has :

2 GHZ

512 MB RAM or even 2 gigs

and linux.

So why wouldn`t it work?

Ho Tobias,

Theoretically Airtime will run on synology, however a quick search didn't return what distribution of Linux they run on their system (Debian based, Redhat etc.).

Airtime installs very easily on Debian based distributions, but other distributions will require some effort to get running (Airtime depends on many third party media packages to handle audio).

If you are interested in attempting to get Airtime running on Synology, go ahead and I can help you with any roadblocks you have along the way.

to do what you want, you need to do a lot of things...

- identify the processor
- install install ipkg on your nas
- download th bootstrap for your system
- give all sources necessary for airtime and package them for synology installation
- install them
