    Booktype is a free, open source platform that produces beautiful, engaging books formatted for print, Amazon, iBooks and almost any ereader within minutes. Create books on your own or with others via an easy-to-use web interface. Build a community around your content with social tools and use the reach of mobile, tablet and ebook technology to engage new audiences.

    Booktype is great for writing books on your own, but its real strength can be seen when it's used by organisations and communities to write and publish books.

    We think the best place to start in order to get a feel for Booktype is the demo. Once you have tried the demo and you want to get started with your own book but don't want to install Booktype, then perhaps you might want to try joining www.booki.cc, a community powered by Booktype producing free books on just about anything.
