would it be possible, to make the filepath selectable as a column and as a filter criteria in smartplaylists?

Could anyone please tell me why this feature will not be implemented?
afaik this is a very crucial feature to have a nice news-or-weather-feature and many people would welcome it.
Or is anything planned which would make this feature request obsolet?
