    Hi all,

The website and manual both say to go to Sourceforge for the Custodian
sample templates, but I've had a look around:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/campsite/files/

and I can't see them. Am I looking in the wrong place?

    Cheers!

  • Hi Daniel,

You are in the right place. Check the files under 3.4.2 release, there you will find the sample templates.

Classic template demo (a.k.a. The Custodian) is under 3.3.2 though, but I am not sure if that corresponds to the latest version.

Yes, we need to re-think this all, it is not easy to find them Smile

    Cheers,

Thanks, I was looking under 3.4.3.

It's installed on campsite-dev but I don't know if it had to be adapted
    for 3.5.x.

Can I suggest that the sample templates are made available under Newest
    Files?

For Debian/Ubuntu there could a separate, optional package called
(new_campsite_brand_name)-templates, because people won't want these
installed by default on a production server, of course.

    Cheers!

We always care about backward compatibility and usually there is no issues with that. Old template sets use to work quite fine with new Campsite versions.

Only changes are necessary same like in documentation. As a new feature is implemented and it affects the template language, then it is always good to modify the template set so that users can see easily how to use it. That will be the case in 3.5 for things like listing images.

My proposal weeks ago was to differentiate the work between Campsite and the sample templates, and new Campsite versions not always demand changes in sample templates, so keeping sample templates per Campsite version in my opinion is not a good strategy.

I think there is now a sample templates team with Micz as the leader Smile so, it is up to them what strategy to implement to keep up with Campsite versions, things like going with new numbering independent of Campsite version number must be defined, and finally how and where to make it available to the users.

    Sounds good.
